Left 4 Dead & Transformers 2

Hey Newsdiggers!

Tony Here, I have been ADDICTED to L4D lately. I know, I know, could a game review be more outdated? Well, yes, I could critique Half Life 2 and how much fun it is to try to break the physics engine. I bought the game for $19.99 USD a couple of months ago during a special offer. I've got to say that for $20 it was money well wasted. By "wasted" I mean that video games in general are an ingenious way of wasting time. L4D offers a single player campaign mode and several online multi-player options including cooperative and versus. This makes for a game that offers as much game time as you can handle until you're simply bored of the game altogether. So far I'm upto 45 achievements that unlock nothing at all, just "bragging rights" for anyone that cares.

Recently, many people playing in the MMO games have asked if they've seen the new Transformers movie and what they thought of it. Now personaly I thought the first one was bad enough that I'm not going to waste time and bandwidth...erm...I mean money...on the sequal. If I had my way: a career start on the Disney channel would mean you have no future outside of it. But this assault on a childhood classic is already one of the most successful exploits from WTFwood (Hollywood). Yet the opinion I hear from a tiny slice of what I assume is a part of the target audience, gamers, is that the movie was, and I'm quoting, "crap, pretty crap, but crap." So why the success? Well newsdiggers, I think that, like the rest of you, it's just another sign of a failing public intellect. To top it off I saw a "news" article about what scripts Shia La-whatever-his-name-is won't do....WTF?! The unemployment rate is frightening, wages are down and the cost of living is up AND this guy is filthy rich with "reporters" writing up fluff about what he won't do?! How about a good job and at rate that doesn't make a Nobel Prize winner wonder why they are smart and contribute to the human race instead of boyishly handsome and filthy stinkin rich?

Well, untill the next time I'm jaded or otherwise inspired,

P.S. Dave is doing well and with any luck, will tell us about it or at least stop in to critique my grammar and punctuation...but hopefully the former :P
